The D-Groups Vision
“Dallas Willard succinctly defined a disciple as: “a person who has decided that the most important thing in their life is to learn how to do what Jesus said to do.” One thing I know: God honors and blesses spiritual hunger!
Philippians 3:10a AMP says, “For my determined purpose is that I may know Him (that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His person more strongly).” Spiritual hunger is a gift and it starts with the Spirit. When we begin to feel the effects of God drawing us closer, we should be thankful!
It is important to note that spiritual hunger must be acted upon or it will wane. This invitation to feast on the things that truly satisfy the heart requires a response. And this is where this guide comes into play. Our heart is that this material would allow a group of people to journey together and be greatly impacted in their spiritual walk. And here is the best part of all… The more your hunger is satisfied by Him, the more your hunger will grow!
This is our prayer for you, that your hunger would abound. That your awareness of Him would increase. That your heart would truly be consumed with spiritual hunger, for God’s promise is that you will be filled!

How It Works
In order for this SZN to be fruitful in your life, we are asking that you make a 10 week COMMITMENT. For you to experience tremendous growth in your life, we believe that there are some specific things that need to be made a top priority.
Galatians 6:7-9 says, “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” This material can be used individually, however, we recommend that you prayerfully consider a small group of people for the purpose of fostering community & accountability!
During these 10 weeks, we ask that you establish a consistent time with Jesus DAILY. This is the primary focus of your commitment and is where you will see the most spiritual growth. (If needed, we will provide a simple outline to help you with this time.) The recommended format is as follows:
- Meet together at least once a week for as long as you see fit. (Digital platforms work for those who have difficult schedules.)
- During your time together, read through the weekly section and share your thoughts. Questions are provided at the end of each section if you need them.
- The week following each gathering is your allotted time to memorize the scripture(s). Recite them to your group the following week.
- Encourage one another to continue their daily time with Jesus and if time permits, share what God has been showing you.
- Pray for each other!
One last thing: Always remember that a life of discipleship is a truly a life of discipline. Paul tells Timothy that he should train himself for godliness because it is of value in every way, holding promises for the present and the future! (1 Tim. 4:7-8) Commit yourself to Him, make the necessary sacrifices and watch Him work in your life!
